As a follow up to a previous blog about How to Nap and trying to find that happy medium between resting the brain and getting things done, i found the Sleep Suit.
This nifty, odd looking invention is the brain child of Forrest Jesse. This is based on the Buckminster Fuller’s practice of Dymaxion Sleeping. Short and sweet is it involves four 30-minute naps over a period of 24 hours for a total of 2 hours per day.
Now that theory sounds like it could be beneficial for some but now the hard part, where do you get that 30 minute power nap when at work or out and about with no couch or bed in sight?
That's where Forrest comes in with the Sleep Suit. It allows the user, once the suit is on, to more or less sleep where ever they want! Whether it be a park bench, set of stairs, grass field or even your desk, this cocoon-like suit allows for that expected comfort to allow the user to achieve that good 30 minute power nap in comfort and to feel secluded from the rest of the fast paced world.
The dymaxion sleep cycle was branded as a more “efficient” method of sleeping, where the sleeping phases give the body the rest it requires for survival.
Follow up:

The Sleep Suit can be taken on or off in a minute or so which reduces the time it takes to get ready for a nap maximizing nap time. It is made of alternating pleated EVA foam to allow for napping on your stomach, side, back or even face down at your desk.
Now based on the fact I do not nap (but would like to), i wouldn't mind giving both the sleep suit and Dymaxion Sleeping a try to see if it benefits me. Once you get past the co-workers ridiculing you for this odd looking suit, you can throw it back in there face when you are rested and re-energized and they are crashing.
Maybe this is something employers can look into providing for employees? They already have studies proving an afternoon nap can increase productivity, improve your health, reduce work place injuries and in general, make a happier work environment. I think we can all benefit from a happier work environment.
Well, what do YOU think? good idea or invention fail?
Do you think you would use a suit like this if you had the opportunity? Maybe you may not but have a friend, family member or co-worker that could use this suit?
I would like to hear your comments, feedback or any other tips and tricks for napping
